Common-Sensors

The major after-purchase cost of any gas detection system is sensor replacement.. Sensor replacements/repairs happen for two reasons:
* Clogging of the flame arrestor
* Failure of the sensing element
The CommonSensor allows the user control over the cost of sensor use. By having the ability to replace sensor elements and flame arrestors, instead of the whole sensor, the user can keep the system operational with less expenditure for spares and labor.

THE CommonSensor System
Duct Mounting Plate
Used to mount the sensor in a duct or pipe with low velocity air flow.
Sensor Extension Kit/Cord
Allows locating the transmitter at a distance from the sensor.
Ported Adaptor
Used to supply calibration gas to a sensor which is located remotely from the calibration electronics. It is normally used in conjunction with the sensor extension kit.
Reclamation Adaptor
Allows mounting the sensor externally on a duct, for example, and still be able to monitor the duct environment. The sample is brought to the sensor.

Calibration Adaptor
Required to connect the various calibration systems to the CommonSensor. One adaptor is included with each calibration kit. It is not needed if any other adaptors are used.
Dust Cover
Fits on the end of the calibration adaptor and helps protect the flame arrestor from being clogged. It should be used in any dirty or dusty atmosphere. It is easily cleaned.
THE SPLASH/WIND GUARD
protects the sensor from strong
winds, wind-driven rain, and water
wash downs. This patented,
retriculated foam guard is easy to
take off, clean and put on the sensor.
Its construction and red color make
it easy to identify the sensors in the
field. In addition, the guard acts as
an effective filter for large particles
and prevents sudden severe winds
from causing false alarms.
